Epinal Print Museum

About the project

The last image factory still running in Europe, Epinal was founded in 1796 and taken over by two passionate entrepreneurs in 2014. Today, the Imagerie carries on the creation of images in accordance with techniques inherited from the 18th and 19th centuries, while adapting them to modern standards and uses.

HistoPad invites visitors to discover the historic roots of printmaking, across thousands of images, carvings, and lithographies.

Through videos and animations, visitors learn to operate the machines on display in order to understand the production processes and history of printing. Young visitors can also play along with the riddle games that have made this workshop famous all over the world.
