About the project

For two centuries, the history of the royal Castle of Amboise was intimately connected with France’s own illustrious history. Splendid palace ofKing Charles VIII and King François I of the Renaissance, and burial site of the iconic Leonard da Vinci, whose 500th birthday is being celebrated this year (1519 – 2019),it is testimony to the profound changes that occurred in Europe in the XVth and XVIth centuries.

Beginning on February 1, 2019, equipped with HistoPads that are given to them at the entrance of the castle, visitors are invited to scan the medallions placed in several rooms of the tour.On the tablet screen, they will see the objects, furniture, tapestries and other Renaissance decor that are now gone, but are completely reconstructed in a 360° view.
